PRESIDIUM FARIDABAD PLEDGES ITS SUPPORT TO 'RALLY FOR RIVERS'
Indian rivers signify prosperity and happiness. They are one of the most beautiful and unbiased part of the nature. But these lifelines are at dangerous levels of depletion today and to change this critical situation, a nationwide campaign is started by Sadhguru's Isha foundation. As the first step, Presidium Faridabad organized a special morning assembly recently to create awareness among the students. The students tried to highlight the measures like tree plantation on either side of the rivers to be taken to conserve river water and to reduce pollution. A special inspiring message from our honourable chairperson, Mrs. Sudha Gupta, who proudly supports this project, was also a major part of the assembly. The students, as the ideal citizens of this country pledged that they will do their best to save the rivers by joining their hands to nurse these rivers back to good health.
INTRA-CLASS DANCE CONTEST 'RHYTHM OF SOUL' ENTHRALLS PRESIDIANS
Presidium Faridabad organized an Intra-class dance competition for the students of grade I on 14th February 2017 in the school premises. Children enthralled the audience with their well-choreographed dance sequences and provided thorough entertainment with their graceful and energetic moves on patriotic songs. The semi-final round was held on 13th February 2017.
Participants provided a visual treat to the audience. The dance programme livened up the atmosphere and the judges felt that all the performances were praiseworthy. The winners were felicitated at the end in a prize distribution ceremony. First prize was bagged by Demanshu Ahuja, second prize was won by Rishika Sharma and Shannaya Singhal, whereas the third prize was given to Tijil Chadda and Gandharvika Arora respectively from grade I A. From grade I B, Vritti Sharma and Simran Grover were felicitated with the first prize, second prize was given to Parth Sharma and the third prize was bagged by Parth Ohri and Shaurya Sen Gupta respectively.
PUPPET MAKING COMPETITION: ENHANCING CREATIVE SKILLS OF STUDENTS
There is no doubt that education is the secret key of human success but art is the best way to enhance the creative abilities of students required to generate and appreciate future learning experiences because art makes learning fun. At Presidium Faridabad, art and craft is well integrated into the curriculum so as to develop our students’ creativity and allow them to express their imagination freely. Keeping this in mind, a Puppet making competition was organized in the school for classes IV and V wherein the children participated whole-heartedly and enthusiastically.
The students made beautiful and attractive puppets with waste materials like socks, ribbons, plastic glasses, shoe boxes, gloves, plastic bottles, cotton, sticks, wool, paper bags and numerous other things. The students were obviously enthusiastic about their work; for each item was rendered carefully and lovingly without the slightest trace of negligence. The art pieces of the children were so exceptional that it became difficult for the judges to decide the winner. Overall, the competition proved to be highly motivating for the students.
STORY READING CONTEST: FINE STAGING BY STUDENTS OF GRADE 1 TO 3
A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies; a man who never reads lives only one!
To celebrate the International Literacy Day and highlight the importance of literacy to the individuals, communities and societies, Presidians from grades 1 to3 of Faridabad recently came together for a 'story reading competition'. Implying that literacy is every human being's right and a tool of personal empowerment, the celebration inspired all to develop a healthy reading habit as it not only aids in better communication skills but also helps in mastering the language and developing logical thinking. The students read a familiar passage from the textbook with proper voice modulation, fluency and confidence. They were able to understand the context and underlying meaning of the content. Showcasing their immense lingual talent to the audience, the 'leaders of tomorrow' brushed their confidence, diction, voice modulation, audibility, pronunciation and overall presentation.
GLORIOUS TEACHER’S DAY CELEBRATION ENLIVENS HALLWAYS OF PRESIDIUM

To express our gratitude and appreciate the hard work of our worthy mentors, the Teacher’s Day was celebrated with unmatched spirit at Presidium, Faridabad. The wonderful assembly began with a prayer and followed with portraying the significance of this day by our energetic Presidians. Showcasing their varied talents by participating in numerous items like dance and instrumental music, they acknowledged the teachers. Our lovely teachers also performed in instrumental music and a group song with great enthusiasm. In a nutshell, this day was memorable for both students and teachers.
NUKKAD NATAK: RAISING AWARENESS FOR CHILD LABOUR & ENVIRONMENT
Nukkad Natak is a drama performed on streets to create social awareness about many burning topics like family planning, girls’ education and child labour. With a view to raise awareness about the social issues mentioned above, a Nukkad Natak was staged at a morning assembly recently at Presidium, Faridabad. Two street plays on ‘child labour’ and ‘environment’ were enacted by students of grades 9 and 10. The purpose of the activity was fulfilled as the participants were successful in making the audience aware of the need to eradicate child labour and save the environment from the clutches of the demon called pollution. The young actors of Presidium were lauded for leaving an indelible mark on the minds of the audience through their flawless performance.
INTER-CLASS POSTER MAKING: DEVELOPING CREATIVITY & AWARENESS
To sensitize or create awareness amongst the students regarding some great social issues, Presidium Faridabad recently organized an 'inter-class poster making competition'. Each participant from grades 4 and 5 designed beautiful posters with catchy expressions. They expressed their ideas through their artwork, accompanied with relative captions and slogans. Students made striking posters depicting various topics related to 'swachh bharat', 'women safety' and 'save ozone layer'. It was a great opportunity to watch these young minds trying to express their ideas on paper. Each of the posters prepared by the children was a treat to the eyes and ranked high on creativity, crispness, relevance to the theme and letter formation. Overall, the competition proved to be highly innovative for the students and their efforts and initiative was appreciated by one and all.
PRESIDIANS OF FARIDABAD OUTSHINE AT THE PMUN 2017 WITH FLAIR
PMUN 2017 or Presidium Model United Nations on the theme 'sustainable development' focuses on sensitizing the students of today with the global issues that prevail across nations. PMUN seeks to make them the front runners who will engage in debates and discussions while confronting the critical global challenges and drafting resolutions in response to them. At PMUN, students from Faridabad brilliantly discussed the on-ground implementation of innovative solutions through their specialized nature. Each student has the power to steer and shape discourses among their peers towards creative and sustainable methods on the theme. PMUN in this manner provides a platform for these fearless minds to unite and calibrate in a focused manner to the pressing concerns of today.
THE ENVOYS OF COMPASSION VISIT THEIR SPECIAL FRIENDS AT SPARSH

Displaying that their hearts are benevolent and shouldering, our young Presidians from Faridabad always try to do their bit towards the society with their small gestures, which inspires many others to take the initiative. With the same intention, they recently visited the Sparsh Special School to spend time with their special friends and interact with them in their classes and vocational training rooms. Enjoying making candles, working with spinning wheel and learning to weave handmade cloth, the Presidians also participated in the in-house 'River Rally' project in collaboration with Isha Foundation. Feeling happy and soulful to be with the special children of Sparsh, the Presidians relished this heartwarming experience and gave a special place to them in their loving hearts forever.
VISIT TO RELIGIOUS PLACES:BUILDING A SECULAR OUTLOOK AT PRESIDIUM

An ultimate source of social cohesion, religion upholds certain ideas and values that can help young generation to become the 'socialized citizens of tomorrow'. To make the Presidians realize this and understand their theme 'religious communities' better, the students of grade 3 of Presidium Faridabad were recently taken to visit temple, church and gurudwara in the nearby area. At all these religious places, the children interacted with the priests and came to know about the various interesting facts about each place. It was indeed a great learning experience for our growing up Presidians as it summed up the purpose of religion - to control yourself, not to criticize others.
