FOLLOWING THE PATH OF SERENITY, SACRIFICE & LOVE ON EID-UL-ADHA
Presidium emphasises on the fact that all religions perpetuate similar beliefs and teachings, thus Eid-Ul-Adha, the festival of sacrifice for the Almighty was celebrated with great fervor and excitement at Presidium Faridabad. A special assembly was conducted by the students of grade 10 beginning with a thought encouraging students to follow the path of serenity, sacrifices, love and friendship. It was followed by an informative speech which highlighted the intricacies of Eid and brought the cultural aspects of celebrations into focus. An intriguing poem wished all peace and prosperity on this blessed occasion. The main attraction of the celebration was the Qawali performance by the students of grade 4. The special assembly successfully conveyed the significance of the festival and taught the virtue of sacrifices in one’s life.
PRESIDIANS RECITE SANSKRIT SHLOKAS WITH FLUENCY & GRACE
A Shloka Recitation Activity was recently organised at Presidium Faridabad for the students of grades 4 to 8. The objective of this activity was to develop their fluency and vocabulary in Sanskrit. The confident participants recited the Shlokas in rhythm. The recitation of Shlokas was followed by their explanation by the contestants which made it easy for the audience to understand and rejoice. The presentation by the students was very informative and interesting. Presidium organises such activities to provide the Presidians with a platform to showcase their talent, improve their confidence and instil moral values. The road towards progress and prosperity requires holistic development which includes building strong moral and cultural values as a part of the academic syllabi.
ROLE PLAY ACTIVITY ENHANCES PRESIDIANS' FRENCH DIALECT
One of the best approach towards learning a new language is Role playing, which not only lets the student learn the words of language but also understand the emotions and situations behind a particular phrase. Keeping this in mind, a Role Play Activity in French language was recently conducted for grades 4 to 8. The students of grades 4 and 5 greeted each other and conversed in fluent French. The students of grades 6 to 8 expertly presented conversations dealing with everyday situations such as giving an introduction, ordering food in a restaurant, buying items in a shop and asking for travel directions. The activity not only blended learning with fun but also gave them an opportunity to use French as a conversational tool.

ORATORS OF PRESIDIUM TAKE A STAND AT DEBATE COMPETITION
Debate is an activity which gives us a glimpse of future leaders and the practice of conducting a healthy debate develops skills like reasoning, articulating, listening and responding. Keeping this in mind, Presidium Faridabad organized an Inter Club Debate Competition for grades 9 and 10. The aim of the
competition was to let the students express their views and opinions on diverse topics. The students from each of the six clubs debated in favour and against of the motion. They were judged on the basis of their organization and clarity of thoughts and ideas, use of arguments, cross examination, presentation style and factual details. From grade 9, Supremes club bagged the first position whereas Elites club secured the second position and Leaders & Maestros club secured the third positions. In grade 10 the first and second positions were bagged by the Victors & the Maestros clubs and the Elites club got the third position. Judges appreciated and applauded the participants for their confidence, clarity of thoughts and lauded their efforts.
YOUNG PHILANTHROPISTS VISIT THEIR SPECIAL FRIENDS AT SPARSH
We at Presidium, believe in nurturing compassion and feeling of equality amongst the students. Keeping this thought in mind, students of Presidium Faridabad recently visited their special friends at Sparsh. The Presidians spent some good time and shared joyful moments of love, compassion and respect with the special children. The Presidians saw the children learning to make various products that would enable them to be independent for a brighter future. The young leaders were amazed to see the exquisite products made by the Sparsh children like room fresheners, colours, candles, Rakhis and aroma oils. Conferring many life lessons, the experience was extremely unique as it filled the hearts with utmost happiness and positivity.
INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS FILLS PRESIDIANS’ HEARTS WITH PRIDE
15th August is a day of love, unity, courage and a vision, a vision for a better nation. Presidium, Faridabad celebrated this spirit of the independent India in the school premises with great enthusiasm and fervor. The function was presided over by the head of the school Ms. Veena Guar. Ma’am unfurled the national flag and the national anthem was sung in unison to commemorate the sovereignty of the nation. Young musicians of Presidium enthralled the gathering with an orchestrated rendition of ‘Vande Mataram’ and patriotic songs. Manan Bansal of grade 10 left everybody awestruck with his extraordinary tabla performance. The celebration came to end with electrifying dance and drama performances. The students by displaying wide variety of talent proved that India is a land of freedom, peace and unity in diversity.

SUMMER SUNSHINE & MONSOON RAINS - PRESIDIANS ENJOY IT ALL!
India is a country with large variation in seasons. Mainly there are four seasons: summer, monsoon, winter and autumn. To make our tiny tots aware about the various seasons and to teach them the importance and significance of the same, a small conversational session was held on summer and monsoon season. The conversation was on things we love to do in summers such as swimming, going to the beach, enjoying vacations and summer camps. Moving on to the discussion about monsoon season, the teachers shared with the toddlers how the weather becomes very pleasant and beautiful and everyone enjoys making paper boats and jumping in the puddles. All the kids actively participated in the conversation; they were prompt to share their ideas and experiences regarding the same.
PRESIDIANS EXPLORE THEIR SPONTANEITY AT EXTEMPORE COMPETITION
Extempore is an art of public speaking that is carried out without preparation or forethought. It puts to test one’s ability to think on the spot and also their spontaneity. It is one such method which assists the students not only in thinking on their own but also in voicing their creative ideas with precision. An Inter Club Extempore Competition was recently organised at Presidium Faridabad for the students of grades 11 & 12. The topics in the competition were associated with the general current affairs and all the participants delivered their speeches with great confidence. The judgement was on the basis of content, relevance to the topic, confidence, clarity of speech, time management and use of language and grammar. Kashish Tewatia of Victors Club bagged the first position, Harsh Jhangra from Supremes Club won the second position and Deeksha Jhangra of Leaders Club stood third. Congratulations to all winners!
