PRESIDIANS ACE BEST OUT OF WASTE CONTEST WITH ARTISTIC EXCELLENCE

Keeping this in mind, a Best Out of Waste Competition and Lantern Making Activity was organized for students of grades 3 to 5 at Presidium, Faridabad. During these fun-filled competitions, exceptional ideas were executed by deft fingers of students. Right from waste bottles, spoons to broken bangles, plastic boxes, waste baskets, old magazines were all transformed into intricate art crafts. Their imagination and creativity was apparent in the objects created by them. Helping to explore and encourage creativity in the Presidians, the day offered them a platform to show their skills in craft. It inspired young Presidians to think and work creatively and promote artistic excellence. The approach of learning by doing was indeed enriching for the students as they learnt about importance of preserving the environment and how we can use waste for different purposes.
PRESIDIANS REMEMBER GURU NANAK DEV JI'S TEACHINGS ON GURPURAB
Keeping with the secular ethos of the school, the students of Presidium Faridabad recently organized a special assembly to celebrate Gurpurab, one of the most auspicious religious festivals in Sikhism. Marking the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the students prepared a medley of activities to commemorate and remember his teachings. The assembly began with the school prayer and speech, followed by a thought and a poem invoking the teachings of Sikhism. Serenity floated in the air with the humming of holy hymns by the students of grade 5 and it paved the way for a very fruitful and productive day.
YOUNG ADVENTURERS OF PRESIDIUM RELISH THE BEAUTY OF JIM CORBETT
Learning should be a joy and full of excitement. It is life’s greatest adventure; it is an illustrated excursion into the minds of the noble and the learned!
To add an interesting dimension to their learning, the students of grades 6 and 7 from Presidium Faridabad went on an exciting three day excursion to Jim Corbett. The trip was the combination of adventure and education. All the students enjoyed and engaged in a various variety of adventurous activities like trekking, river crossing, safari in jungle, pugmarks study, nature walk and journal writing. Packed with the enormous and rich beauty of the flora and fauna, this forested wildlife sanctuary in northern India’s Uttarakhand State offered a bag full of fruitful and memorable experiences for the leaders of tomorrow.
FOSTERING A SOCIO-CULTURAL SIDE IN PRESIDIANS WITH LANGUAGE WEEK
Knowledge of languages is the doorway to wisdom!
Known as the ‘window to the world’, language is the medium through which, a person can express his feelings freely throughout the world. Keeping this in mind, Presidium Faridabad recently celebrated the 'language week' activities for students of grades 3 to 12. Featuring a lot of exciting English, Hindi, French and Sanskrit language activities throughout the week, the Language Week was a huge hit.
The fun-filled English language activities included Pictionary, Inter-Class Speak Out, Character Sketch, Figures of Speech, Extempore, Radio Show, Shakespeare's Monologues, Literary Quiz and Soliloquies. Whereas in Hindi, there were activities like Kahani Nirman, Ashubhashan, Vaad-Vivaad, Hindi Quiz, Natya Rupantar, Hasya Kavi Sammelan and Doha Gyan. To foster a socio-cultural aspect, Sanskrit and French activities were also conducted for the students, which included French Dialogue Writing/Shlok Lekhan, French Fair/Sanskrit Quiz, French Faire/Neeti Shlok Ucharan, Enrive-Un-Recit/Sanskrit Prashnawali.
It was a pleasure to see the leaders of tomorrow taking impressive interest in each language activity with lot of enthusiasm. Highlighting the global importance of each language, the Language Week encouraged the Presidians to maximize their resources for the best learning experience possible.
LITERARY QUIZ & SOLILOQUY:PRESIDIANS FLAUNT FINE LITERATURE TASTE
Literature is one of the most interesting and significant expressions of humanity!
To develop and hone the literary skills of the students, Presidium Faridabad recently inspired them to develop a taste for literature with Intra-Class Literary Quiz and Soliloquy. Aimed at building up the confidence and grooming the talents of young Presidians of grades 11 and 12, the fun-filled activities attracted them. The students participated with full enthusiasm and tried their level best to answer the questions in the Rapid Fire Round. They also gave the audience a peep into the Shakespeare’s world with Soliloquies from his various plays. Overall, the competition proved to be an opener into the world of literature and enhanced the students' knowledge of literature.
THE ILLUMINATING SPIRIT OF DIWALI DAWNS AT PRESIDIUM, FARIDABAD
Diwali, the gracious festival that signals triumph of light over darkness was beautifully celebrated at Presidium, Faridabad recently. The festival of lights gave the whole school a festive look with enticing diyas, rangolis and lanterns in bright colours. A special assembly was organized on this auspicious occasion, wherein the students talked about the significance of the festival. Besides sensitizing them to the ill-effects of crackers, they also shared the guidelines on being safe while bursting crackers. The artistic students showcased the spirit of Diwali through a mesmerising dance performance on the tunes of 'Hanuman Chalisa'. Following this, the soulful 'Ganesh Vandana' was sung by the students of grade 6 to illuminate the surroundings with divine vibes. Young Presidians wished everyone a very Happy Diwali in their melodious voice and the assembly concluded with the message of a clean, peaceful and a bright Diwali.

Marking the birth anniversary of our great leader Gandhi Ji, who fought for the independence of the country and won it, Gandhi Jayanti is indeed a special day for India. To celebrate the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, our young Presidians from Faridabad came together for a special assembly with a lot of excitement and fervour. His teachings and values were discussed and the students were taught to be honest and truthful. The cleanliness drive launched by our honorable Prime Minister, Mr. Narender Damodar Modi on this day, motivated the students to keep themselves and their surroundings clean. It was a fun-filled affair and the students were full of joy and enthusiasm.
INTRA-CLASS DANCE CONTEST: PERFORMING WITH CONVICTION & POISE
Dance is a way to find yourself and lose yourself, all at the same time!
Dance has many different meanings for each and every person. Some believe that dance is a cultural ritual, others believe that it’s just a way of expressing one’s feelings. Considering that dance is an effective way to stimulate social interaction, enhance the mood, reduce anxiety and increase self-awareness and self-expression, Presidium Faridabad recently organized an 'intra-class dance competition' for the students of nursery and prep. All the children came dressed-up in beautiful and artistic attires and seemed quite energetic and excited to be on the stage and perform on their favourite dance number. While dancing, they utilized the stage and props quite wisely and moved rhythmically to the beat of the music. Presenting themselves with conviction and poise, all the kids competed sportingly against each other and relished a memorable day.
PRESIDIUM FARIDABAD PLEDGES ITS SUPPORT TO 'RALLY FOR RIVERS'
Indian rivers signify prosperity and happiness. They are one of the most beautiful and unbiased part of the nature. But these lifelines are at dangerous levels of depletion today and to change this critical situation, a nationwide campaign is started by Sadhguru's Isha foundation. As the first step, Presidium Faridabad organized a special morning assembly recently to create awareness among the students. The students tried to highlight the measures like tree plantation on either side of the rivers to be taken to conserve river water and to reduce pollution. A special inspiring message from our honourable chairperson, Mrs. Sudha Gupta, who proudly supports this project, was also a major part of the assembly. The students, as the ideal citizens of this country pledged that they will do their best to save the rivers by joining their hands to nurse these rivers back to good health.
INTRA-CLASS DANCE CONTEST 'RHYTHM OF SOUL' ENTHRALLS PRESIDIANS
Presidium Faridabad organized an Intra-class dance competition for the students of grade I on 14th February 2017 in the school premises. Children enthralled the audience with their well-choreographed dance sequences and provided thorough entertainment with their graceful and energetic moves on patriotic songs. The semi-final round was held on 13th February 2017.
Participants provided a visual treat to the audience. The dance programme livened up the atmosphere and the judges felt that all the performances were praiseworthy. The winners were felicitated at the end in a prize distribution ceremony. First prize was bagged by Demanshu Ahuja, second prize was won by Rishika Sharma and Shannaya Singhal, whereas the third prize was given to Tijil Chadda and Gandharvika Arora respectively from grade I A. From grade I B, Vritti Sharma and Simran Grover were felicitated with the first prize, second prize was given to Parth Sharma and the third prize was bagged by Parth Ohri and Shaurya Sen Gupta respectively.
