INTER-CLASS DEBATE COMPETITION:PRESIDIANS DISCUSS DEMOCRACY
Discussion is an exchange of knowledge and a lively discussion is usually helpful. In order to enhance the oratorical skills of our young Presidians, an Inter-Class Debate Competition was organised for grades 11 and 12 on a very pertinent topic - 'democracy is the best form of government'. The students were divided into two groups - one in support and one in against the topic. While the supporting group spoke out with confidence that democratic government provides freedom of expression to its citizens, the opposing group said that democratic form of government goes slack and the citizens take undue advantage. The interesting and healthy discussion came to the conclusion that democracy should be judiciously utilized both politically and personally. At the end of the competition, the judges appreciated the participants for their energetic and infallible presentation.
FUN-FILLED COLOURING COMPETITION ENTHRALLS LITTLE PRESIDIANS
Everything around us is an array of colours, from the ground we walk on to the sky above, nature abounds in the richness of colours!
To unfold the enormous beauty of colours, Presidium Faridabad recently organized a colouring competition for little students from grades nursery and prep. All the Presidians actively participated and thoroughly enjoyed mixing and matching the colours to paint their imagination. They were very excited and showed their creativity to the fullest. The success of the colouring competition could be well judged by the blissful faces of the little ones after completing their cute artworks.
CELEBRATING THE FESTIVAL OF RAKHI: A BOUQUET OF SACRED SCENT
A sister is a little bit of childhood that can never be lost and a brother shares grown–up dreams forever!
Presidians from Faridabad recently celebrated Rakshabandhan, the occasion of love and affection, with unmatched vigour and splendour. Full of joy and traditional values, the celebration witnessed a tribute to the relation of a brother and sister. The children were familiarized with the customs and rituals followed on Rakshabandhan, while the school resonated with the song of love that is shared between a brother and sister. It was a moment of great joy and utmost bliss to see everyone gathered in the belief of the tradition. It was a bouquet of sacred scent that created a traditional aura in the school premises. The enthusiasm, innocence and harmony in the atmosphere made this event a truly memorable one for all of us.
INTRA-CLASS SPELLATHON COMPETITION:EXPOSURE TO WORLD OF NEW WORDS
To enrich the vocabulary, pronunciation and understanding of words, an Intra-Class Spellathon Competition was recently conducted at Presidium, Faridabad for the students of grades 6 to 8. Featuring multiple rounds like - warm up, jumbled words, similar words, guess the right words and the audience round, it was a fun-filled contest. The contestants were asked to spell words taken from Environmental Sciences, Literature, Medical Sciences and day-to-day life. The audience was also abuzz with excitement, cheering for their respective classes and trying to answer. The participants took part in the competition enthusiastically. They got an exposure to a world of new words and won accolades for their brilliant performances.

INTER-CLUB CARROM COMPETITION ENTHRALLS OUR YOUNG STUDENTS
There goes a good proverb - “all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy”, which lays emphasis on importance of games and sports. Being an integral part of a student’s life, they are very important for fostering team-spirit and discipline among the participants. Keeping this in mind, an inter-club 'Carom Competition' was organized at Presidium, Faridabad for grades III to V. Featuring three rounds - preliminary, qualifying and final, the competition laid the standardized rules. Numerous students participated enthusiastically in the competitions and displayed their fine intellectual attitude. They propelled the striker in the right direction at the right speed and their skill to calculate where should it hit the Carrom piece was simply delightful. Overall, this competition proved to be a highly motivational and beneficial experience for the students.
INTER-CLUB CHESS COMPETITION EXCITES STUDENTS OF GRADES III TO V
Move in silence; only speak when it's time to say checkmate!
Packed with boundless fondness for the brainy game of Chess, 52 of our young students from grades III to V proactively participated in the inter-club 'Chess Competition' at Presidium, Faridabad. This interesting competition featured three rounds, wherein the Presidians took part enthusiastically and displayed their fine skills of visualization, calculation and evaluation. Various arrangements like Swiss System and Fide Rules were applied under the supervision of the Chess coach. The way these talented contestants played from the opponent's point of view to freeze their moves and assessed the risk before putting the player down on the Chess board were very captivating. A highly motivational and beneficial experience for the students, the Chess competition also helped in developing logical reasoning in them.
SENIOR STUDENTS DISCUSS ABOUT SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT AT MUN
A grand educational simulation and academic activity, Presidium Model United Nations or PMUN is a fine platform to offer students an enriching experience about diplomacy, international relations, public speaking and debating. Focusing on building critical thinking, teamwork and leadership abilities in our young leaders, Presidium Faridabad organized an MUN conference. This academic competition united Presidians as 90 participant delegates, which were placed in committees as assigned countries to represent members of that body.
The theme of the conference was 'Sustainable Development' and the students participated enthusiastically under this amazing platform to discuss about several burning topics of today. Ms. Deepti Sachdeva, the teacher coordinator joined other teachers to help the participants cover the journey of leadership with a simple, yet most effective solution – learning. Overall, it was a successful effort that brought forth the zeal, enthusiasm and dedication of our students for global issues.
Independence Day and Janmashtami Special assembly
ASSEMBLY ON JANMASHTAMI & INDEPENDENCE DAY ENTHRALLS PRESIDIANS
Festivals have been an integral part of India’s 'unity in diversity'. The amalgamation of festivals, one celebrating the birth of Lord Krishna along with the Independence Day of India, was recently celebrated with unmatched fervour at Presidium, Faridabad. The special assembly started with the hoisting of the tricolour flag by our school's respected VP, Ms. Madhu Pandey, followed by a heartwarming prayer to awaken the almighty to shower his choicest blessings. Our talented Presidians won the hearts of spectators as they danced on occasional songs, dressed in the attire of Krishna and Gopikas. Singing an enticing Krishna bhajan and the soulful ‘hare Krishna, hare Rama’ chants added to the ecstasy and majesty of the assembly. An instrumental piece on the tunes of 'Vande Matram' was also presented by the students to create an atmosphere of national pride. The assembly evoked awareness among the students about Indian tradition, culture and liberty.

To honour the meritorious students of Presidium Faridabad and encourage them to redefine success, we recently organised 'Academic Excellence Awards 2017'. The ceremony began with the ceremonial lamp-lighting by Mr. S.P. Aggarwal (honourable Chairman - Advisory Board) and Ms. Neerja Chawla (Director - Presidium, Faridabad).
The young Presidians were felicitated with prestigious certificates and trophies for overall excellence, subject distinction and 100% attendance. The awards made them comprehend the importance of treasure stores of knowledge, experience, wisdom and practice. They, along with their mentors and parents, were filled with pride, confidence and admiration as their determination and dedication were being applauded by all. Motivating the 'leaders of tomorrow' for continuing their hardwork and achieving success with the same conviction and zeal in future, this time-honoured award ceremony had a remarkably positive influence on the lives of Presidians.
POETRY RECITATION ACTIVITY ENHANCES ORATORY SKILLS IN PRESIDIANS
If you can speak, you can influence. If you can influence, you can change lives.
Taking this view into account, Presidium Faridabad organized an English Recitation Activity for the students of Grade II. The event not only aided in developing narrative skills and phonemic & physical awareness but also helped in building up rhythm and self expression. The young leaders got an amazing opportunity to allow their true feelings to flood onto a piece of paper. Flaunting their linguistic skills by reciting an English rhyme in front of their teachers and classmates, they enlivened the event with their mesmerizing creativity, voice modulation and expressions. Providing the Presidians an opportunity to build confidence to face the audience, this activity proved to be an immersive learning experience.
