An ‘Extempore’ is an impromptu speech in which the person has to speak on a given topic without any prior preparation. It helps in testing a child’s ability to think and connect with the audience. It also develops their communication skills, fluency, pronunciation and overall presentation skills, confidence, spontaneity, poise, composure etc. Taking this view into consideration, Presidium Faridabad, organized an ‘Extempore Competition’ for the students of grade 9 & 10 on the general current affairs in which they spoke a few lines on the respective topic for about a minute. Through this competition, the children were able to learn the skills of prioritizing and sequencing in order to display their logical thinking.
